Tianjin Motorcycle Quality Supervision & Testing Institute (hereinafter referred to as TMTI) was established in 1988, affiliated to Tianjin University. It is an independent entity, the third party inspection and technical service provider. Its business covers 39 products including motorcycles, electric motorcycles,electric bicycles and chargers, all-terrain vehicles,general samall gasoline engines, motorcycle engines and components,helmets for motorcycle and electric bicycle users.
TMTI is headquartered on the campus of Tianjin University on Weijin Road in Nankai District, Tianjin City, with the fixed assets of hundreds of millions Yuan in total, covering an area of more than 60 hectares. It is the only dedicated motorcycle testing ground that conforms to the requirements of international standards in China.

National Motorcycle Quality Supervision and Testing Center (Tianjin) was established on the basis of TMTI in November 2001 with the approval of the National Certification and Accreditation Administration. In August 2021, it was renamed as National Motorcycle Quality Inspection and Testing Center (Tianjin) in accordance with the requirements of the State Administration for Market Regulation. Its testing and certification service covers various national and industry management models, such as CCC mandatory product certification, announcement management, environmental information disclosure, and national quality supervision sampling test.
Over years, TMTI actively expands in international main stream certification market and strengthens international and regional cooperation, obtaining authorizations for EU certification and U.S. certification and localizing such certification services.
